The app

Common has no usage analytics, advertising trackers, or third-party crash reporting. Searches and copying happen on your Mac. Favourites, history, and preferences stay on your device. Nothing syncs to iCloud.

Updates

Common uses Sparkle to check for updates and download new versions. Those requests expose ordinary connection information, including your IP address and request headers, to the hosting servers. System-profile reporting is disabled. Your searches and library are not sent.

The website

This website uses Google Analytics to understand visits and downloads. Google Analytics may use cookies and collect browser, device, and interaction information. The app does not use Google Analytics. Google explains how it uses this information.

Website and download hosts may keep ordinary request logs, including IP addresses.
